Search Engine
Optimization is a process in which a web developer makes his or
her website easier for Google, and other search engines, to read
and figure out what is on them. A highly optimized website will
show up in the top 10 or 20 natural results for any given key
term. This translates almost exactly into more visits and then
an increase in sales or donations or whatever it is that you're
website is designed to do. Now, there is no sure-fire way to get
extra sales, and Studio 4 Design LLC., Inc. does not make any
promises as far as extra sales is concerned. What we do promise,
is positioning within the top 10 natural search results for
almost any given key phrase.
5 Easy Tips:
-
Make sure that your website
has your key phrases dispersed within the content of your pages,
this is crucial. The density of your keywords dispersed in
throughout your website is critical, but be sure to not over
do it, as Google will not respond to a page whose keyword
density is too high.
-
Love your headers. When
Google's bot sees a header it assumes that whatever is in
the header tags is more important to the page/site than what
is not in header tags.
-
When building and
designing the content of your website, be sure to group
similar items with other similar items. This is a good way
to keep your page focused on one to three key terms and make
sure that Google's bot will know what to look for. I.e. if
you're selling blue widgets and green whatchamacallits,
don't talk about both on one page, but rather have 1 page
dealing with widgets, widget makers, and widget retailers,
and one with whatchamacallits, whatchamacallit makers, and
whatchamacallit retailers.
-
Make sure all the pages
have different, relevant title tags. If at all possible,
remember to name the pages as the same name as the most
relevant key term for that page, and make sure the title
matches the name of the page.
-
Don't excessively spam
your meta tags with key words. Your meta tags are not quite
as important as you might think. Yes, they are important,
and you can't neglect them, however they are not the be all,
end all of site SEO. In fact, if you over load your meta
tags with your key terms, it can have an adverse effect on
your website, because Google will read this and consider it
as simply a link farm.
These
5 simple things will improve your site's overall look, as well
as the way search engines see it. These 5 however are not simply
enough to assure you a top 10 position on Google or other major
search engines. For this you need a trained SEO professional
