Why your site needs to be easily navigable.

Lets face it, no one wants to go roaming through 5 hours of pages to look for what they need, or worse, get back to where they were to begin with! When people have to look forever to find what it was they went to the site to find in the first place, they just get frustrated and wind up leaving altogether. This doesn't lead to extra sales or more people learning about your company or organization, it leads to less people, because those same people who left your site will tell their friends to not use you because your navigation is so bad. Not using folders, placing everything in the root directory, disorganized folders with no clear intent, broken hyperlinks, all of these can cause poor site navigation, and, what's worse, cost you business. Well, Studio 4 Design, LLC will ALWAYS build clean, crisp, easily navigable websites, because there is no excuse for not doing so! A website with folders and few pages in the root directory is more professional looking, less amateurish, and helps to increase your website's security. It also makes it much easier for yourself or some one in you company or organization to go and edit your site, as your files are easily found and changed/removed/added to.

There is another advantage to having an easily navigable site, and that's that Google likes them. Google's search engine's crawler does just what it sounds like, it crawls through your website and returns information back to Google's main database, which then helps to position your website in the natural search results section of its search engine. A site with broken links, and everything in the home directory isn't something that Google likes very much, because its poorly put together. A site with named folders appropriate to the content that's within them, i.e. an image folder with images in it, will lead to a favorable report by the crawler for your website, which will in turn benefit your site as a whole.
